Camouflage For Conservation’s Team Resolute: An Expedition to Africa for a Cause

Camo4ConservationIn October, ECWG Board Member and retired U.S. Army Command Sergeant Major Eric Fies, FRGS MN’16 will lead an expedition comprised of combat-wounded military veterans to East Africa. Their mission is to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in order to show the strength and resiliency of American combat-wounded veterans and to demonstrate these attributes and the importance of camaraderie to those that continue to suffer in silence from the horrors of war. Following their climb, Team Resolute will interface with Kenyan Rangers protecting wildlife in the Loita Forest of the Mara Serengeti Ecosystem to gain a better understanding of operational challenges, tactical limitations, and resourcing needs. The team will assess, advise, and assist the Rangers in order to enhance capabilities and effectiveness in the field. In addition, Team Resolute will deliver donated equipment to aid in the Rangers’ mission.

Eric recently founded Camouflage For Conservation (C4C) to honor and support American Military Veterans through coordinated, challenging, and engaging volunteer global expeditions, while leveraging their considerable experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and passions to advise and assist organizations in the execution and accomplishment of wildlife protection and conservation efforts.
