Colonel (Ret.) Mark Beckler
Mark Beckler retired from Army Aviation after 28 years split between the active Army and Army National Guard. Mark performed multinational peacekeeping work in Egypt and Israel in the 1990s; and he conducted extensive humanitarian disaster relief in Central America following Hurricane Mitch in 1998-99. He received the Boeing Rescue Award in 1997 for saving human life and property with a helicopter. Mark commanded an Army Combat Aviation Brigade in Iraq, Syria, Jordan, Turkey, and Kuwait in 2017 to battle a designated terrorist group. In addition to his operational service in the Army, Mark was an Army Congressional Fellow in 2010. He enjoys helping with communications to the US Congress. With a Master’s Degree in interdisciplinary social sciences, Mark enjoys efforts to explore history through archaeology. He is also a lawyer who enjoys teaching maritime law to SCUBA divers and aspiring nautical archaeologists.
